If this isn't perfection, I don't know what is.

Frederica von Stade sings Voi che sapete from Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro.
She has always been my favorite Cherubino.

I have the Glyndebourne video of "The Marriage of Figaro" with Frederica Von Stade doing Cherubino. Nobody else can do that role, in my opinion! It's as if she was born for it.
We have a Glyndebourne DVD performance of "Figaro" as well, but it must be a later one. I don't recognize the Cherubino, but she's fabulous. She's Slovic but I'm not sure from where. Renee Fleming is the Contessa, and of course she's fabulous, and Alison Hagley sings Susanna. After seeing this performance of "Figaro", Hagley is now my very favorite Susanna. She's an absolute doll!
I think mine is from the '80s - it's a VHS tape. Glyndebourne does some wonderful performances. I also have a VHS tapes of their performances of "Don Giovanni" and "Magic Flute". I love them.
My Glydebourne tape of "Figaro" has Kiri Te Kanawa (not sure if I spelled her name right) as the Countess Almaviva.
