Mozart in the hands of youth

>> Tuesday, September 22, 2009

This is from a Manhattan School of Music performance of the finale of Mozart's Symphony no 40 in G minor. The young conductor's name is Brett Mitchell.  And notice the orchestra.  Some of them look like they couldn't be much older than 10 or 11 years old.  Fantastic performance by any standard! Bravo, kids!

What a great performance!

And so many of our schools cut music from the curriculum! This video shows what happens when kids have access to a musical education. Just think how many more kids could be like this if our schools were better and more enlightened!

Hi Lynette,

Excellent entertainment. Music does seem to have taken a back seat in schools. Getting an appreciation for it is very important.
