The English composer, John Rutter, has been one of my very favorite composers of sacred choral works since my college days. We sang many of his works in the Chorale at Oklahoma Baptist University and this particular piece became our signature piece, as we would close all of our concerts with it.
I performed the Rutter Gloria with the OBU Chorale back in the early 1980's and fell in love with his works then. The Stillwater Chamber Singers, of which I've been a member for several years, frequently performs Rutter's Christmas works and last year we performed the Rutter Requiem.
I sang Rutter's "Gloria" when I was in Wayne State's Choral Union and I just loved it! It was my first introduction to Rutter's music and I've been a fan ever since.

Hello Lynette,
Rutter's music has a simplicity that most people seem to enjoy. I love the Christmas album I have of his works.

A wonderfully sensitive composer.
The beauty of this music is in its simplicity.
