What song best describes you?

Is there a song out there that you identify with--one that expresses you and the essence of your life? When I was a teenager, just before I went on my first trip to Europe, ABBA came out with a song entitled, "Thank you for the music" that perfectly described me, right down to "the girl with golden hair", and I adopted it as my theme song. I just suits me!

When I was twelve my parents were seperating and a family friend made sure that I saw "The King and I". Then she gave me a 78 of "Whenever I feel Afraid, I Whistle a Happy Tune". The boy in the film seemed about my own age and was, like me, without a father. Following their example, I learned to become quite a good whistler and people at work, for example, always assume that I must be happy, which sometimes consoles them.
What a great story, Marc! Thanks for sharing that! :D
I love this idea. "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl is one of several songs that are key to my life and times. After over 60 years on the planet, there are many songs that have affected me.
